Roll Call, Fish Extender, Pixie Dusting & Packing
These are the things Disney cruisers organize with each other for a specific sailing. They all live on that sailing’s page, and they all unlock the same way.
First: mark the sailing as yours
- Sign in (Google, or a magic link by email).
- Open your sailing from Sailings — filter by ship and date to find it.
- Hit “I’m sailing this.”
That one action does two things: it adds the cruise to your My Cruises log, and it puts you in the sailing’s Roll Call — which is what opens Fish Extender, Pixie Dusting, and the packing list for that sailing. Change your mind and you can leave it again; nothing’s permanent.
Roll Call
The running list of people on your sailing, and the place to find the sailing’s Facebook and WhatsApp groups.
- Everyone who marks the sailing as theirs shows up in the Roll Call list.
- Anyone in the Roll Call can paste the Facebook or WhatsApp group link so the next person doesn’t have to go hunting for it.
- You can remove a link you added if it’s wrong or out of date.
Fish Extender
A gift exchange between cabins. Each stateroom door has a little hook (the “fish”); people hang a pocket organizer on it and everyone in the exchange drops a small gift in each other’s pockets during the week.
- Anyone can start an exchange — give it a name, a short set of rules, a budget (e.g. “$3–5 per cabin”), and who it’s for (anyone / families / adults-only / kids’ cabins). A sailing can have several exchanges running at once.
- People join the exchanges that fit. Each cabin adds its stateroom number, party (with ages), favorite characters, and any allergies.
- The person who started it (the “curator”) either splits everyone into small groups of ~8 cabins — auto-sorted by cabin number, or moved by hand — or runs one big open exchange where everyone shops for everyone.
- Once you’re grouped, you see your group’s roster with everyone’s shopping info, plus a personal checklist to tick off each cabin as you deliver.
Pixie Dusting
Anonymous surprise gifts left at other cabins’ doors — no exchange, no obligation, just a nice thing.
- Sign your room up to be dusted, to dust other cabins, or both. Add a party type (adults / family with kids / kids’ cabin) and an optional reveal day.
- When you’re dusting, you get a list of cabins that want to be surprised — sorted nearest-first using the ship’s real deck plan (your deck and side first), filterable by party type.
- Tick off each cabin as you drop something off. The board shows counts, never names.
Packing List
A checklist for that specific sailing, so you’re not rebuilding it from a blog post every time.
- Starts pre-filled with a DCL-specific default list — lanyard, Fish Extender bag, Pirate Night gear, magnetic hooks, and so on.
- Add your own items, check things off as you pack, remove what doesn’t apply.
- Saved to your account for that sailing — it’s there when you come back.
